Based on the novel, this play has often been described as a truly "brillant murder mystery." Mark McPherson first comes to
know Luara through her portrait, her letters and the three men who loved her. Continuing to look into the circumstances of her
murder, Mark realizes that he is falling in love with Laura's image. As the investigation unfolds, despite his growing
love, Mark must decide if Laura was to have been the intended victim or hte perpetrator of the crime.
