The Play's the Thing

March 24 - April 9th, 2006

The arts of acting and playmaking are the targets of this irreverent comedy. While staying at an Italian castle with celebrated playwright Turai and his acting company, Albert, a young and impassioned composer, overhears Ilona, Albert's fiance' and the company's prima donna, with another man in her boudoir. Turai tells the devastated Albert that the passionate scene he overheard was just a rehersal for a new play they are doing. In an effort to keep the company together, Turai then stays up all night writing a play that includes the lines Alber overheard.
