A Christmas Carol Adapted and Directed by Kathryn Gage
Riverside Community Players will be holding auditions for our second Family Series show, 'Charlotte's Web', based on the book by E.B. White and adapted by Joseph Robinette, directed by Kyle Whitlock.
Character Descriptions and Director's Notes:
All roles are open and available. Cast might be given multiple roles. Sides will be available at the audition. All descriptions are general, show me what you got. This is a beloved story and I am willing to work with everyone to make it a wonderful show.
•Narrator: non-gendered role; any age. Storyteller. Wise and willing to play with the audience.
•Fern Arable: Female; teens to early 20’s. 8 year old girl with a heart of gold. She seems to understand what the animals are saying.
•John Arable: Male; 30’s and up. Fern’s father. Strong and a provider. Level headed.
•Avery Arable: Male; Teens to early 20’s. Fern’s 10 year old brother. Feisty, loves games and adventures.
•Homer Zuckerman: Male; 30’s and up. Fern’s uncle, a hard worker who loves his family and his farm.
•Lurvy: Male; 20’s and up. Zuckerman’s hired hand. Strong and agile. Maybe a little superstitious. Will be running around the stage.
•Wilbur: a pig: teen’s to 20’s: non gendered. Active and curious runt of the litter. Should be agile and humorous.
•Charlotte: a spider: Female: any age. Motherly figure of the barnyard. She is Wilbur's friend. This role will include dancing. •Templeton: A Rat: non-gendered: any age. The mischievous gangster of the barnyard. A role to have fun with.
•Goose: Female: any age: a fast talking duo that is both encouraging and fun loving.
•Gander: Male: any age: friends with Goose.
•Sheep: Male: Older: An old soul who tells it like it is.
