Auditioners need only attend one night of auditions. Headshots and resumes are encouraged, but not required. Please note that not all actors who audition will be cast.
General rehearsals and performances will take place at Riverside Community Players from 7:00-10:00 pm, Monday-Friday, beginning September 12th. Tech and Dress rehearsals will take place from September 12th through October 20th, with performances from October 21st through November 6th. . (No conflicts will be accepted past October 16th.) A more detailed rehearsal schedule will be provided at the first rehearsal. **All details listed are subject to change.
Synopsis: The creature is born into this world abandoned and quite alone. As he journeys forth he encounters the beauty of nature and evil of mankind, acquiring a great longing for a partner while also a great hatred for the world of men and his creator, Victor Frankenstein.
The Creature - A brute reborn as a naïve child. Throughout the show he progresses through adolescence and physical ability. Seeking a powerful physical performer.
Victor Frankenstein - The scientist who creates the Creature. A man of higher intelligence and little regard for those he views as lesser than he. Cold and calculated, he flees from his own responsibilities and weakness.
De Lacey - A blind professor who acts as a father figure to the Creature. Caring, firm. and an optimist. Must be able to play guitar or violin.
Felix - His son, a man of good humor.
Agatha - His daughter-in-law, a bright youthful woman.
The Female Creature - The foil to our creature. She is graceful and beautiful. A dancer.
Elizabeth Lavenza - Victor’s fiancée, she desires to learn more about the things which Victor prizes, but she is restrained by her sex. She wants to connect with Victor, but is at a loss of overcoming his cold demeanor.
Clarice - Her maid, supportive and playful.
William Frankenstein - Victor’s brother, a boy of 10. He is still very much a child and an innocent.
Monsieur Frankenstein - Victor’s father, a man of law and order unable to connect with his son.
Gretel - A prostitute in Inglolstadt.
Gustav - A beggar
Klaus - A beggar
Ewan - A Scottish islander employed to rob graves for Victor.
Rab - His nephew. Adds much needed comedic relief to 2nd half of show.
