Auditions will consist of cold readings from the sides from the show.
Casting decisions will likely depend more on the age relation of characters with each other. This is a plot driven adventure that requires sharp characters and actors to bring them to life in Sherlock’s lush Victorian world. Physical sides will also be available in person. All roles are open to all ethnicities.
Auditioners need only attend one night of auditions. Headshots and resumes are encouraged, but not required. Please note that not all actors who audition will be cast.
General rehearsals and performances will take place at Riverside Community Players from 7:00-10:00 pm, Monday-Friday, beginning July 17th. Tech and Dress rehearsals will take place from August 21st-24th, with performances from October 25th through September 10th. **All details listed are subject to change.
Synopsis: Picking up where the famous stories ended, Sherlock Holmes has received a death threat, sent by the son of his late nemesis, Moriarty. Oddly enough, however, Holmes is warned of the plot by Moriarty’s daughter.
Can Holmes survive the heir of his greatest foe and unravel the case before it's too late?
Sherlock Holmes: 40’s to ? Ascetic; imperious. Standard British dialect.
Doctor Watson: 40’s to ? . On the outset a bit bumbly - but our Watson has a secret. Character arch and range required. Standard British dialect, however other dialects considered - Irish / Canadian, etc.
Mrs. Hudson: 50’s to ? Wonderful character role. Holmes’ housekeeper. Dialogue written for Scots accent but other accents considered. All ethnicities.
Liza Moriarty: 20s attractive standard British dialect. An ingenue role with some teeth!
Inspector Lestrade: 30s to ? Great character role. Dialogue written for working class London accent.
Holmes Look-Alike: A mysterious man with a striking resemblance to Holmes. The two actors must indeed be theatrically passable.
Damion: Male 20s. Sly; suburban; debonair. Great character role.
